Sorbet Churn Dash Update #1

Quilty people really are the best kind of people, we already kind of knew this, but I've never put out a call for blocks or help before and I really am staggered by the number of people who are offering blocks.
First up I received these from Jo.
Aren't they gorgeous, perfect colours and I love that background.
And today I received these blocks from Carol.
So so lovely!
The only thing with receiving all of these blocks, is it's making me want fabric that I don't have!!! I must resist!
Here they are with the 5 I had made, so thats 15 of the 49 blocks needed to make a quilt, this is really going to be a stunning quilt!
So remember if you find yourself looking for a quick project in pretty colours, make a Churn Dash or two or five for our Siblings Together Girly Quilt, have a look here at my original begging post and use this tutorial to make them!!

A little thing completely unrelated to make you laugh, Boris and I went to our first puppy training session last night! It was an experience....he nearly pulled my arm out of the socket trying to get to the other dogs, didn't listen in the recall and tried to eat a Sausage Dog and a Pug!! We've not been expelled yet, but I think we both have to try harder next week.
My husband took him to get weighed today and he is 15.8kgs!! No wonder my arm feels like I've been doing a work out, I can't believe how much he has change in the 3½ months we have had him!!
I forgot how cute he was, he's such a scruff in need of a hair cut!!

  1. Sounds like me trying to get Dan out of the park everyday (right next to the preschool)! The quilt will be lovely and I'm pleased I could contribute :)

  2. Haha! it is fascinating isn't it seeing everyones else's fabrics, I might set me girls a challenge to count all the different prints in the blocks that have arrived here! I posted 5 blocks off today so they should be with you shortly. Thanks for taking this on, I can't wait to see the finished top.

  5. Those are beautiful blocks! They really turn the design into something special with those gorgeous fabrics. My dog was referred to as a diva in puppy training...it didn't go well ;-)

  6. Funniest blog post I ever read was from the owner of an old english sheepdog puppy who was scared of all the tiny dogs in her puppy class, she went and hid under the stairs!

  7. Hi Joanna, could you please drop me an email on admin@purple-stitches.com. We organised a charity sewing event at our shop today for the boy's block and it was a huge success and I would like to do the same for the girl's block. I would really appreciate it if you would kindly get in touch with me. Many thanks, Viv x

  8. They're gorgeous blocks! My dad took our first (rescue) dog to training classes but, even after months (at least eight) of training, Charlie wasn't at all keen on the 'recall' aspect of the 'walk then call the dog' away exercise. Eventually, the trainer said 'Give him here, this is how you do it'...and Charlie promptly ran right round the (large) hall, weeing on all the columns, sniffing all the other dogs and dodging anyone who tried to catch him. The trainer just said 'I don't think there's any point in you continuing with the training, is there?'!!
