It's been ages since I joined in with WIP Wednesday, but here goes.
In Progress
Spinning Stars.
I got another 4 done this week, so only 8 left to go! I am really loving this quilt as it comes together, but am very daunted about putting them all together.
Vintage Holiday Quilt
I cut into my Christmas fabrics yesterday and made these. They are so cute and I can't wait to make some more.
Brigitta Wristwarmers.
I've got one of the fronts done and started a back. The pattern (it's a free one by MillaMia) asks for four cabled panels to make the wrist warmers, but as this is my first go at cables I decided to give myself a break and make 2 cabled and 2 plain! I can't see the point of cables on the palm side, but maybe I'm just lazy! The wool is gorgeous to use, it's Erika Knight Vintage Wool which I got at Loop a few weeks ago.
Can you spot my mistake? (I think this will become a knitting game of mine!) A wonky cable!

So a few things to keep me busy, and if that wasn't enough I bought a dress pattern from Annie at The Village Haberdashery.
I've been eyeing this up for a while and finally took the plunge and bought it......now I've just got to pluck up the courage to make it! The plan is to make one for the Little Lady in some Chicopee corduroy, but I think I'm going to make one in muslin first this week to see if I have any troubles, any tips are very gratefully received.
And lastly, I think I've wangled an afternoon off from the house on Saturday so I can go along to the Knitting and Stitching show at Alexander Palace. I'm so excited, a whole afternoon to myself, the family was offered the chance to come with me but they turned it down!!

Great tops! Love your spinning stars :)
ReplyDeleteI always love the look of Oliver & S kiddie patterns so I will watch your progress with interest! I also bought some Chicopee cord to make a skirt for me, but it is much softer and lighter than I thought so my little ones might get their own version if they are lucky!
ReplyDeleteYour Spinning Stars really caught my eye! I love the colors you're using! Happy Wednesday!
ReplyDeleteGo you! I love the spinning stars, what a great pattern, made even better by your choice in fabrics....wow! Your baubles look good (gosh, to an outsider that could be very rude! ) and your cabled arm warmers are lovely, I agree with you on the palm thing...love the wool, the colour is gorgeous. Your afternoon out sounds perfect, now to wangle yourself some pennies to take along! Have a lovely time!
ReplyDeleteBtw, I know I've been a little preoccupied with everything other than blogging recently, but love your new header!
ReplyDeleteI actually have been following the spinning stars flickr group because my friend is participating - and the other day I picked out your photos as one of my favorites in the group. The colors are awesome and I love this diagonal pattern with the solid rings you have going. Can't wait to see it finished! And no daunting allowed - it will look amazing.
ReplyDeletecheers!
