Hello there, this month I am the Mamma for The Thread House Retreat Bee and I thought I would go down the route of a scrap filled block that can be strip pieced.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj01s58JZGCa1siVcD-FmCzRdvx_BOarOqpGidnDWFBnVn3sJsfKxwBaatWoD4ezAGomHugPDbsnLtVlT-HBG0WasKSJzPlwydN1u9M21o4XYrYxQwHA1o-JvnO_T_8SOcrEjBw38JsRu9y/s1600/IMG_0691.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj01s58JZGCa1siVcD-FmCzRdvx_BOarOqpGidnDWFBnVn3sJsfKxwBaatWoD4ezAGomHugPDbsnLtVlT-HBG0WasKSJzPlwydN1u9M21o4XYrYxQwHA1o-JvnO_T_8SOcrEjBw38JsRu9y/s640/IMG_0691.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I spotted this 25 Patch block on <a href="https://www.pinterest.co.uk/pin/210402613825189228/">Pinterest</a> and the free tutorial is from <a href="https://www.thespruce.com/twenty-five-patch-quilt-block-pattern-2821229">The Spruce</a>, I'm asking each Bee member to make two blocks, which should each end up at 10.5".<br />
You will need a dark colour and a light colour, I would like you to stick to one colour per block for the dark colour and you can use either low volume or white as the light colour.<br />
<br />
The dark colour does NOT have to be dark, but it just helps when referring to the strips to label them dark and light. I'm hoping for really bright colourful blocks.<br />
<br />
For each block you will need<br />
<br />
3 light colour strips 2.5" x 8"<br />
2 dark colour strips 2.5" x 8"<br />
<br />
Sew this together - light, dark, light, dark, light and press.<br />
<br />
<br />
3 dark colour strips 2.5" x 5.5"<br />
2 light colour strips 2.5" x 5.5"<br />
<br />
Sew together - dark, light, dark, light, dark and press.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiVvVslr6RjHHcaWSz0TdSq1b1iPhL0-fyDFRWMGeEtbXsRf2hUyQmlavRgbgVwUS94zSTsKg-bBukt18RzOuDiUEfBrykSOl5zEplsqqcMxc3IRruBHmSKS9hq6F0UWem6o4DpRtYP_1Gc/s1600/IMG_0604.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiVvVslr6RjHHcaWSz0TdSq1b1iPhL0-fyDFRWMGeEtbXsRf2hUyQmlavRgbgVwUS94zSTsKg-bBukt18RzOuDiUEfBrykSOl5zEplsqqcMxc3IRruBHmSKS9hq6F0UWem6o4DpRtYP_1Gc/s640/IMG_0604.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Trim them into 2.5" strips, three strips from the larger piece, two from the smaller.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjx4hG5Cuct-gxcUBAbdCt0GXtdmTIv-wAw-GRJwdzLQLNC_X4gx_wJHxQqyqOOaxs4W2mQO6sdWLlmj9jLPefEQqH_OSPNsE6BFSHRfVt_L0SHKPLhmTwBPD1k_PEj-cGsLjgbHBGzpWHn/s1600/IMG_0605.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjx4hG5Cuct-gxcUBAbdCt0GXtdmTIv-wAw-GRJwdzLQLNC_X4gx_wJHxQqyqOOaxs4W2mQO6sdWLlmj9jLPefEQqH_OSPNsE6BFSHRfVt_L0SHKPLhmTwBPD1k_PEj-cGsLjgbHBGzpWHn/s640/IMG_0605.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Mix the strips around, making a checkerboard pattern.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhfhLEX9Ct9EqZndZrBfkXxgobMPIBQkuWzAM_iy8Bg2o6qx9P4Y1hogJbeIwGpiqWzFVoe_hZpZj41PAT0H7Uc7AODgGGIOA8OAaFKnuZi-bakk7AVtawoWYE-EwEHlZ9rn2aSFGBOF7Dq/s1600/IMG_0606.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhfhLEX9Ct9EqZndZrBfkXxgobMPIBQkuWzAM_iy8Bg2o6qx9P4Y1hogJbeIwGpiqWzFVoe_hZpZj41PAT0H7Uc7AODgGGIOA8OAaFKnuZi-bakk7AVtawoWYE-EwEHlZ9rn2aSFGBOF7Dq/s640/IMG_0606.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
And sew the strips together, nesting the seams together to align the squares.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhedj1y7DuUPRnRW-ruXKD-J1rILLDYl6kfsWv5R8J6b5gCnzduS1u1so8Qe9ksXCPt_u2KCf1zNnrLAZPS4hliLuY605eE7ExspGMz4OsZHYFuQZtFz3PTSt_wA6BJ1iPwNqb79RJhxiOw/s1600/IMG_0607.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhedj1y7DuUPRnRW-ruXKD-J1rILLDYl6kfsWv5R8J6b5gCnzduS1u1so8Qe9ksXCPt_u2KCf1zNnrLAZPS4hliLuY605eE7ExspGMz4OsZHYFuQZtFz3PTSt_wA6BJ1iPwNqb79RJhxiOw/s640/IMG_0607.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Press, and you end up with a 10.5" block.<br />
<br />
Here are a couple of blocks I did at The Sewical Retreat to test out the pattern and colours, I'm planning on sashing them and hopefully they will make a colourful rainbow quilt.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhRs90lQcWieTn5Klal8D49x3QMPUXs44S7SDBLNGMn6vzIQIb04WDlsW6ZmKFmwxrHbWTLSmQ9ig25hfpy6YAGclK16rSngd7BMo18hDomM8gztMNtdHSDTndsvn8aYsRiSwm4tkiP9JaJ/s1600/IMG_0608.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhRs90lQcWieTn5Klal8D49x3QMPUXs44S7SDBLNGMn6vzIQIb04WDlsW6ZmKFmwxrHbWTLSmQ9ig25hfpy6YAGclK16rSngd7BMo18hDomM8gztMNtdHSDTndsvn8aYsRiSwm4tkiP9JaJ/s640/IMG_0608.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Happy making, I can't wait to see the blocks we get and let me know if you have any questions. </div>

It's been two long years that I haven't blogged for and although I may not have documented it here I have still been making, but the time for blogging has completely been lost.<br />
<br />
Life, mostly the extra hours I need to spend with my parents and taking over their business full-time has eaten into any spare time that I had. And with 3 children there wasn't much to start with.<br />
I did share on here, but my lovely Mum was diagnosed with Alzheimers 3 years ago at the age of 65 and to say that is knocked me sideways is an understatement, It took me nearly a full year to be able to tell anyone out of our immediate family that she had it. The word Alzheimer's just stuck in my throat and looking back now I can say that I was very very angry with the world. She was the most active, health conscious, brain active, non drinker and healthy eater you could meet and she was one of the many many unlucky ones to develop the disease. I feel that just three years on she has been robbed of so many parts of her fabulous personality, predominantly her sense of humour, she was always such a joker, but now she feels we are taking fun of her or talking about her.<br />
<br />
We also moved into one of the biggest renovation projects we have tackled, it took two long years to complete #renovationtippingpoint and in most of the rooms we still have pictures on the floor leaning against the wall and a massive list of frames I need to order!!! So its still not really finished.<br />
<br />
I have also felt that <a href="https://www.instagram.com/rosedahlia/">Instagram</a> has really taken over from blogging, it is just so easy to interact with people by posting a photo with a short comment, no need to edit it, sort and wait for photos to upload to iCloud and write a post. I always felt that a blog post needed a decent narrative with it, I'm sure if I posted some of the rubbish I share on Instagram I would have been laughed off of blogger!<br />
<br />
But I digress, I'm back because<br />
1. I'm an Bee Mamma in April and I need somewhere to show my fellow bees all about my block!<br />
2. I have a spare evening to write this, as the tv is truly atrocious at the moment and I'm awaiting backing to quilt a quilt! but mostly<br />
3. I actually had the want to blog! So I'm sorry you have me rambling away.<br />
<br />
So, in the last two years I have knitted quite a few shawls.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjGyXS102ViEPmdY73oJHrdh9DdYTRTXukzVycZVCgMJMSLDQisw7SZGoCKdFOrABCjdZ9MZt-emOSxNezRvyq1MLBrJTm4LXAN0_j_6RTndwgQJNzMik-_lFfJd7qcQDqsZZKejZOiXpbg/s1600/IMG_0671.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjGyXS102ViEPmdY73oJHrdh9DdYTRTXukzVycZVCgMJMSLDQisw7SZGoCKdFOrABCjdZ9MZt-emOSxNezRvyq1MLBrJTm4LXAN0_j_6RTndwgQJNzMik-_lFfJd7qcQDqsZZKejZOiXpbg/s640/IMG_0671.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
You can see the details for them on my <a href="https://www.ravelry.com/people/RoseDahlia">Ravelry</a>. Knitting is just such a transportable thing and instead of pulling out loads of stuff to get sewing (or tackling the mess of the sewing room) I am able to get on with a pattern relatively easily.<br />
<br />
Sewing has been slower, but I've made.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjPu4J15bi8ngFAoTLgdZ666Ctiho6kUuUYqbkL4yD3OPoC0OYRjDckaExypesFMHuivarAlObt-W8SXLXmpijy-anP9rKoO8dYC_Hb1HQC29cAZBpMfLBpFc76I1-JX4YcQh08Wel0CBZ1/s1600/IMG_0672.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjPu4J15bi8ngFAoTLgdZ666Ctiho6kUuUYqbkL4yD3OPoC0OYRjDckaExypesFMHuivarAlObt-W8SXLXmpijy-anP9rKoO8dYC_Hb1HQC29cAZBpMfLBpFc76I1-JX4YcQh08Wel0CBZ1/s640/IMG_0672.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
Two quilts for Siblings Together, two flimsy tops (one for us one for a present) and a fair few pouches, two of which were for swaps for retreats.<br />
<br />
I've also had the luck of going to three sewing retreats, twice to <a href="http://thethreadhouse.co.uk/retreats/">The Threadhouse Retreat</a> and most recently to <a href="https://www.purple-stitches.com/sewcial-retreat-2018/">Purple Stitches Sewical Retreat</a> which was amazing!! It's been so nice to actually sew with people, I don't have anyone close that sews/quilts. So to meet people in real life, that get why I sew and want to talk about fabric is amazing!<br />
<br />
That it for now, I'm not promising to be here all the time and I don't want to feel the pressure to make things just to have a blog post. But I have missed this little bit for me on the internet and the friendships that I originally built up on this blog and I will be back next week with my April block for The Threadhouse Retreat Bee for Siblings Together xxx<br />
<br />
<br />

So I might not have been blogging so much recently but I thought I'd update you with the newest additions to the wool and fabric stash.<br />
<br />
As a little gift to me I signed up to a Valentines Box from <a href="https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/finefishyarns">A Fine Fish Yarns.</a> I <span style="color: red; font-size: x-large;">LOVE </span>Terri's yarns and made one of my <a href="http://rosedahlia.blogspot.co.uk/2014/12/magrathea-shawl.html">favourite shawls from her amazing Christmas Tree Lights Yarns</a> a few Christmases ago and was just waiting for the chance to order more.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgZwo3oyd7pZNUnHTlK3nm-57YkHuEJyHSY_EpCqGyYDhE6HnYZklPEvEGPyvdzbJX8FSiJzbJg-Li7nE5HWmD8VBXJ-o2hFAnmTymScsdHWf62B6c840qta_tOmH8LqL4zJO3Hvg2AoHZk/s1600/DSC_0008.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="634" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgZwo3oyd7pZNUnHTlK3nm-57YkHuEJyHSY_EpCqGyYDhE6HnYZklPEvEGPyvdzbJX8FSiJzbJg-Li7nE5HWmD8VBXJ-o2hFAnmTymScsdHWf62B6c840qta_tOmH8LqL4zJO3Hvg2AoHZk/s640/DSC_0008.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
I went for the 100gms skein of both Kiss Kiss and Bang Bang yarns as I couldn't decide if I was a hater or a lover of Valentines Day ( I think I'm a bit of both!!)<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg5FaZv0lh8YBW3Y6cHeRKslMOxzpxLZ7pFIe3fxbWHh7q5l3pbyxiH9wNd8gAjmjixeup-fbgYCXysDBHNOETNkeGQzbQbNydfDJ-SsY0Ygba9BoEMPyn4IZIAIDhH_pIzAUVoKvEfy_Ie/s1600/DSC_0013.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="630" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg5FaZv0lh8YBW3Y6cHeRKslMOxzpxLZ7pFIe3fxbWHh7q5l3pbyxiH9wNd8gAjmjixeup-fbgYCXysDBHNOETNkeGQzbQbNydfDJ-SsY0Ygba9BoEMPyn4IZIAIDhH_pIzAUVoKvEfy_Ie/s640/DSC_0013.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
They are just so perfect together, I need a shawl pattern to use them both in.<br />
<br />
And then a good few week back I took advantage of the <a href="http://simplysolids.co.uk/">Simply Solids </a>sale and stocked up on a bit of Cotton + Steel halloween fabric.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhwJsNBNg5tJXju2DQ0OEck20tPXLUoi4lD4cuT-lhA3O2Ag-LFgqokLsqivSh8Q-C1I8SX1dnGQgc2d12JXoPBXUVc2eaj0iEEqjRzawhR-n-UKBJHU6gVgioz0e6iT23RrvQaDkm9aKIy/s1600/IMG_0260.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhwJsNBNg5tJXju2DQ0OEck20tPXLUoi4lD4cuT-lhA3O2Ag-LFgqokLsqivSh8Q-C1I8SX1dnGQgc2d12JXoPBXUVc2eaj0iEEqjRzawhR-n-UKBJHU6gVgioz0e6iT23RrvQaDkm9aKIy/s640/IMG_0260.jpg" width="586" /></a></div>
They seem to design the loveliest seasonal fabrics and I wish I had bought more of them earlier on, especially the Christmas ones.<br />
<br />
And then last week I saw a little IG destash (why does auto correct want to change it to deaths, maybe it is worried by us destashing!!!) of A Stash Addict yarn and I couldn't resist.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiduuL-LcG0FFEWNfRy9e6ULXunm_ztchehOoIPZw2-3uDKF0yrrXVWvxjt16RZR0bt8_mLB_LGqjDlVf-Yv-LhySixB1qTj_0scbPLepniPbiPyPlblMePLRMWHoiUhzqsQI3S8waKRvW1/s1600/DSC_0007.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="598" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiduuL-LcG0FFEWNfRy9e6ULXunm_ztchehOoIPZw2-3uDKF0yrrXVWvxjt16RZR0bt8_mLB_LGqjDlVf-Yv-LhySixB1qTj_0scbPLepniPbiPyPlblMePLRMWHoiUhzqsQI3S8waKRvW1/s640/DSC_0007.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
This gorgeous skein of Electric Watermelon has been earmarked as a Miss Winkle Shawlette for me, or if you have any other 1 skein shawl ideas let me know please!!!!<br />
I'm off to ponder my makes and get on with my Daybreak Shawl knitting,<br />
<br />
Hopefully I'll get back here tomorrow with a sewing update, don't be too shocked but I have actually got to use my sewing machine!!!! </div>

The next thing to come of my needles are my Christmas Eve Socks, they are a bit of a dazzling rainbow pair of socks!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhZdrI0zt9GFZKb6IbfN6fZZrjWTOk-FluWW5g7-1Vnx9mFVnvndagV3kTAiWsKLjZtoHc89wTbSonPS3zNznVsakl0P7EIQIotAx1Sct5icchruE0SwCDTtTgmDzShZqJEZi3SCYiIg_oi/s1600/DSC_0194.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhZdrI0zt9GFZKb6IbfN6fZZrjWTOk-FluWW5g7-1Vnx9mFVnvndagV3kTAiWsKLjZtoHc89wTbSonPS3zNznVsakl0P7EIQIotAx1Sct5icchruE0SwCDTtTgmDzShZqJEZi3SCYiIg_oi/s640/DSC_0194.jpg" width="528" /></a></div>
I cast these on, on Christmas Eve as part of <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/discuss/little-bobbins-knits/3327497/1401-1425#1421">Little Bobbins knit along</a> and with our Christmas being a bit busy I didn't get much done over the holidays but have slowly plodding along of an evening and last week finished them off.<br />
They are a little on the big size (massive under exaggeration!!!) as I got a little bit carried away one evening knitting the foot of the sock infant of the tv. I really think I need <a href="https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/263263481/childrens-sockers-rule?ref=shop_home_active_5">one of these sock rulers</a>, but the seller must be out of the adult ones, I have seen someone on Instagram using a homemade cardboard one, but I can't remember who.<br />

I've got a few things off of my knitting needles recently and the first thing to share is my <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/projects/RoseDahlia/rose-city-rollers">Rose City Roller socks</a>, I am a little bit in love with them.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhImjgSQPsc0UHsgGdREh7M_fJMGbzkxsOrlhaYLYK315Ij3KCbnFuoHzU7gawXWg1tyLU6yV5tD5axq8ESgy7ORKkQ3gDqslnMBa3Y7hD1675h13YttCitLeEt-5PdBQ44WIv2pMynfjg1/s1600/DSC_0006.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhImjgSQPsc0UHsgGdREh7M_fJMGbzkxsOrlhaYLYK315Ij3KCbnFuoHzU7gawXWg1tyLU6yV5tD5axq8ESgy7ORKkQ3gDqslnMBa3Y7hD1675h13YttCitLeEt-5PdBQ44WIv2pMynfjg1/s640/DSC_0006.jpg" width="616" /></a></div>
So much so, that I don't want to wear them incase I ruin them or wear them out!!!<br />
They did take me ages to get finished, as I just let them sit to the side for so long untouched and I think thats because I really don't like knitting socks from the top down, I love the toe up way of knitting them (even though I do get a cleaner heal turn this way).<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiERuRwO8jgN_ibk1soKk0BN20hcGnmV-zzPgGXpVUX5ywTF6ohbqSlAHk-ZaKJ73Doc06a8imEXSnSfG3aNaA0EYkXqwMBB9ccJ5gB7wJIRwc-UE98Zm95Wf-yVeXOovwDNOyZCC4ieFHp/s1600/DSC_0009.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="600" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiERuRwO8jgN_ibk1soKk0BN20hcGnmV-zzPgGXpVUX5ywTF6ohbqSlAHk-ZaKJ73Doc06a8imEXSnSfG3aNaA0EYkXqwMBB9ccJ5gB7wJIRwc-UE98Zm95Wf-yVeXOovwDNOyZCC4ieFHp/s640/DSC_0009.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
They fit perfectly and the yarn was as lovely to knit with as it looks, its such a pretty pink.<br />
<br />
Details<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
Pattern - <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/rose-city-rollers">Rose City Rollers by Mara Catherine Bryner ..</a>.It's a free pattern on Ravelry </div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
Time to Knit - Far too long.... I think I started them after the summer!!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: left;">
As I was taking these photos the eldest has just asked for a pair in a manly colour ( I offered him a pink pair but he wasn't keen) for him to wear around the house, so I might be casting on another pair soon and as I have 50grams left of this yarn, I do actually have enough for a second pair for me. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg5zfF_GoqcAVePkTl_Q6lX8A-ckypL0j_-WpXlOEZAUzJPzYC5hUH2hOC831kWR9lQLYnTebdqSMTTFI2ubbDyy65NW2XQ8Xzlo6lZHYWsb0mYf-3OigC4VF3tnmuTdWCgAyqpW3QIBvyM/s1600/IMG_0227.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg5zfF_GoqcAVePkTl_Q6lX8A-ckypL0j_-WpXlOEZAUzJPzYC5hUH2hOC831kWR9lQLYnTebdqSMTTFI2ubbDyy65NW2XQ8Xzlo6lZHYWsb0mYf-3OigC4VF3tnmuTdWCgAyqpW3QIBvyM/s640/IMG_0227.jpg" width="526" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
But until then I will only be wearing these when I'm sitting on the sofa, to ease wear and tear!</div>

So, I'm giving the FAL another go this year, I completely dropped out last year half way through, but I've high hopes for this time.<br />
Heres the list, I'm keeping it small and hopefully achievable, with only one repeat from last year (the rest I'm ignoring!!)<br />
<br />
Butterfly Cross stitch<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgmXczYGCVlIWTTqNw51mJ-tcndQZ7gFYsFZwGLnkXe94TWpQJMXWBx1AXVZWNV3x3OkKSG6Q626qa7tLrV9JtPpwEgoEUHDg62VMyhArRhNfId8BTTHpxAqgh54lebu5UtKmix0R51acmW/s1600/DSC_0190.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgmXczYGCVlIWTTqNw51mJ-tcndQZ7gFYsFZwGLnkXe94TWpQJMXWBx1AXVZWNV3x3OkKSG6Q626qa7tLrV9JtPpwEgoEUHDg62VMyhArRhNfId8BTTHpxAqgh54lebu5UtKmix0R51acmW/s640/DSC_0190.jpg" width="570" /></a></div>
This needs finishing and then turning into a cushion, Rose has already claimed it when its done!!<br />
<br />
Siblings Together Giant Granny Squared Quilt<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiQSBnPmGNNxaNLLqtTphOIWnVFXjH-6sLoVh1CSaTgxCD0qTqaIvEo48oOlVLEAArpLJrBDnus2Nm3g3I6GzH5xPEOcMxRDH0sCcHCFkA3ZQbuQC5YYU74yFDMhJBijq4YhUUV4rnUpXDI/s1600/DSC_0186.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiQSBnPmGNNxaNLLqtTphOIWnVFXjH-6sLoVh1CSaTgxCD0qTqaIvEo48oOlVLEAArpLJrBDnus2Nm3g3I6GzH5xPEOcMxRDH0sCcHCFkA3ZQbuQC5YYU74yFDMhJBijq4YhUUV4rnUpXDI/s640/DSC_0186.jpg" width="534" /></a></div>
All the charms are chopped up, I just need to get them together, quilted and bound.<br />
<br />
Christmas Eve Rainbow Socks<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEji8yowpa1qlalftM2TosstR8ivGbCYQtjcAdPUwlyxJkTCzPwHe3zKE5XSDzpT4sP3glPOGWAqr6DLPEmlESFp6qlJr4iHarOPVEDfC43Yyik0UBkLudTJpVrTf3d1HZrr1au5DDE-Nn7B/s1600/DSC_0187.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEji8yowpa1qlalftM2TosstR8ivGbCYQtjcAdPUwlyxJkTCzPwHe3zKE5XSDzpT4sP3glPOGWAqr6DLPEmlESFp6qlJr4iHarOPVEDfC43Yyik0UBkLudTJpVrTf3d1HZrr1au5DDE-Nn7B/s640/DSC_0187.jpg" width="618" /></a></div>
These need about another inch of knitting and then casting off, quiet a simple finish so it should be an easy finish!<br />
<br />
And lastly my one carry over, my very much loved but neglected Chicopee Swoon<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi_-ubB_InFzuQcVNpzwk82uwo4QQvRhTA3AI2GyL0itoDg05dtdMiGg3BTZpca1_BAUvNwpN1mlE7dViB6z-5PwD-kmUKXwVHMitzP5SDbvJGgnh0aStau8IgMU9wPUGTJY8bUIVv1kRoU/s1600/Swoon+9+blocks+.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi_-ubB_InFzuQcVNpzwk82uwo4QQvRhTA3AI2GyL0itoDg05dtdMiGg3BTZpca1_BAUvNwpN1mlE7dViB6z-5PwD-kmUKXwVHMitzP5SDbvJGgnh0aStau8IgMU9wPUGTJY8bUIVv1kRoU/s640/Swoon+9+blocks+.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
All the blocks are made, I just need to sash and add a border and then quilt and bind it.<br />
<br />
Not too bad a list I hope, just 4 this time.............I just need to get on with it now!!<br />
<br />

<a href="http://siblingstogether.co.uk/">The Siblings Together Charity</a>, we all know what an amazing job they do and we all know the quilt drive every year to get as many quilts to the summer camps as possible.<br />
Well, the lovely Nicky and Maria have set up a <a href="http://siblingstogetherquiltgroup.blogspot.co.uk/">blog</a> and Instagram account to help quilters share what they are making, need or to donate fabric for someone else to turn it into a quilt.<br />
Just before Christmas I saw that there were some charm squares up for grabs, they were in the lovely Lush Uptown line and I thought they could be made into a great boys quilt.<br />
I'm thinking of making a Giant Granny Squared quilt, keeping the charms the 5" size, <a href="http://poppymakes.blogspot.co.uk/">Fiona</a> gave me 76 squares and I've attacked my stash and scrap bags and added to them to make about 140ish in coordinating and matching fabrics. so now I just have to pick a background fabric.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I've been really taken by this <a href="https://www.pinterest.com/pin/210402613819135465/">cushion I saw on Pinterest</a>, with a linen taupe background and I'm hoping that one of these Bella Solids will make a good match and make it nice and boyish! What do you think left, middle or right?<br />

So, that was 2015......................<br />
I don't know about you but it flew, it kicked me up the arse, shook me around and definitely knocked me for six and I am very very glad to see the back of it.<br />
It saw me ..............<br />
Have my mum diagnosed with early onset Alzheimers, which truly shattered my world and I don't think we have still got our heads around it 11 months later.<br />
Run (huff puff and stumble) an amazing 201 miles and completed my first half marathon in 2.5hrs.<br />
Taken over most of the day to day running and all the bookkeeping of my family business.<br />
Finally get a builder started on Operation Tipping Point the name for the new house as my husband thinks it might just be the final thing to send me over the edge!!<br />
and I also fitted in a bit of sewing and knitting.<br />
<br />
I fell head first into the wonderful world of swaps<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiBUWk_AsJENIe3UtneLjZCqXdsMB-aeLaUQVF5wAMUxhmpcHzN6OPN6XAqWAfzsLktkeZlcW5pnkOC3wdxeE4N4QkTg-qz9wPl9_T5m7tQBdaU6vR16qa_nWo7dx2u50W9thYTalJQ24Xx/s1600/2015+swap+makes.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" height="212" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiBUWk_AsJENIe3UtneLjZCqXdsMB-aeLaUQVF5wAMUxhmpcHzN6OPN6XAqWAfzsLktkeZlcW5pnkOC3wdxeE4N4QkTg-qz9wPl9_T5m7tQBdaU6vR16qa_nWo7dx2u50W9thYTalJQ24Xx/s640/2015+swap+makes.jpg" width="640" /></a><br />
This was what I made and I was so so lucky with what I received.<br />
<br />
Quilts were a bit short on the ground this year, with two made for Siblings Together with blocks donated by lovely sewist and finishing my Tile Quilt<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgCZV1rE03iDTXybAfVcwo8bJFe5V2KZNmwxloxHVojJyHJFNYvB0TRYIB84NEMX48-0tC-mAjPJu1NQEXmRF_ueYOz5qsk21I7aVIGWexzOWmLb3eFQs5uGWbGGZltpxQKa1JMW5I7HIqv/s1600/2015+Quilts+.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="294" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgCZV1rE03iDTXybAfVcwo8bJFe5V2KZNmwxloxHVojJyHJFNYvB0TRYIB84NEMX48-0tC-mAjPJu1NQEXmRF_ueYOz5qsk21I7aVIGWexzOWmLb3eFQs5uGWbGGZltpxQKa1JMW5I7HIqv/s640/2015+Quilts+.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Then we had a bit of dressmaking for myself and Rose<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiip16ny-96SBkNjMK9Atlq49T0hGGuYYJYUVrWzh3VKps19AHU5ZjIiZITLsrL9BrGnqhm9LqR_HXAwK6v1WT1ehatYFpOz2xaJysfPus4yq-SMEGAEkFSAWWklvXcPGvTqSwVUQ6XsnNo/s1600/2015+clothing.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="398" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiip16ny-96SBkNjMK9Atlq49T0hGGuYYJYUVrWzh3VKps19AHU5ZjIiZITLsrL9BrGnqhm9LqR_HXAwK6v1WT1ehatYFpOz2xaJysfPus4yq-SMEGAEkFSAWWklvXcPGvTqSwVUQ6XsnNo/s640/2015+clothing.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
Butterfly Emery dress and Lawn Scout Tee for me and a Liberty Summer Romper for Rose<br />
<br />
And made a few odds and ends<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhMcLedvK_dVX-iCp7lwo5eutkJEYzgl64unP6PvwaCGCOFiCM2Mn-wCMGbdpHW0bDuqzvaShrCc9-lqpO5ZLGsrFr7E1qDQQyVaR7YaYXgLV1muQWt-xPnnC_Ee4ToUKEJyWn44LTDI3ma/s1600/2015+odd+makes+.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhMcLedvK_dVX-iCp7lwo5eutkJEYzgl64unP6PvwaCGCOFiCM2Mn-wCMGbdpHW0bDuqzvaShrCc9-lqpO5ZLGsrFr7E1qDQQyVaR7YaYXgLV1muQWt-xPnnC_Ee4ToUKEJyWn44LTDI3ma/s640/2015+odd+makes+.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
At a glance pouch and my Grippy Christmas Stocking.<br />
But I seem to have been quite a lot more productive with my knitting<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjYplugKemTfbtqp8tWNjQ1A5ovvzfwU-_JujtGGytUgWF8Vof35MNAYayYatQ3XM0i0jkk3zhMeTnQOg8aQ9blB4lNiVx3h6g6F8824JEnGvDHhtp3mVQzvbV9mYu5XybF_nYRvWxwFso7/s1600/2015+Knits+.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjYplugKemTfbtqp8tWNjQ1A5ovvzfwU-_JujtGGytUgWF8Vof35MNAYayYatQ3XM0i0jkk3zhMeTnQOg8aQ9blB4lNiVx3h6g6F8824JEnGvDHhtp3mVQzvbV9mYu5XybF_nYRvWxwFso7/s640/2015+Knits+.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
I really didn't realise quite what I had made this year until I made this mosaic and I seem to have a thing for the colour purple with my knitting this year. With hospital appointments with mum, I found that knitting is just so much for portable than sewing and I've tried but I just can't get my self to love hand sewing, I find it such a chore and hospital are just not keen on me setting up my machine in there waiting rooms!!!<br />
<br />
Anyone who reads here often will have seen that my blogging has been seriously slow this year, but I hope this post goes a way to explain where I have been and that I am still making and I think that along with my little family sewing and knitting has kept me sane this year and given my brain something else to think about for a few minutes.<br />
So, heres to 2016. I really hope its a good one for family, making and having some fun!!!!!<br />

So, I posted the picture of the cushion I made for the <a href="https://www.flickr.com/groups/1988234@N23/">X-Factor Pillow</a> swap and due to not being home in daylight I haven't been able to share a picture with you of what I received.<br />
Well, I think I was a very very lucky swapper as I got this beauty.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgUgb_5GxsRxscrFBz-qqQmrqBy-rV9sKQQ_nagW3o32-P8U8p-FOsNUz5Sz6ICIu9XQHwFFSaZtQtuaOLcqbr0_f-iRyzvjRnL-pkkyDcHGTJBpar9CU7JKH9VbuQdxchaGTk1fauXGIIc/s1600/DSC_0012.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="582" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgUgb_5GxsRxscrFBz-qqQmrqBy-rV9sKQQ_nagW3o32-P8U8p-FOsNUz5Sz6ICIu9XQHwFFSaZtQtuaOLcqbr0_f-iRyzvjRnL-pkkyDcHGTJBpar9CU7JKH9VbuQdxchaGTk1fauXGIIc/s640/DSC_0012.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
It was made by the lovely <a href="https://www.instagram.com/cottilello/">Tiina</a>, who is also the hostess of the swap and she was the receiver of my <a href="http://rosedahlia.blogspot.co.uk/2015/12/christmas-cottage-holiday-pillow.html">Christmas Cottage Cushion</a>, so I feel like we had a little private swap.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgBlKBUvgrAxUnLvRsH7asXl0zYfhdP4V-TpV9hRrSdIxsvbGWcEHwo1fi5uwUaJdtm1Nyozi2qIWviYIV4kAphxptpnR_hO7w03vWHG8Ui2Nk1jzFGT_ywENJqSvZ4VR47DSqstQDI0e3T/s1600/DSC_0015.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgBlKBUvgrAxUnLvRsH7asXl0zYfhdP4V-TpV9hRrSdIxsvbGWcEHwo1fi5uwUaJdtm1Nyozi2qIWviYIV4kAphxptpnR_hO7w03vWHG8Ui2Nk1jzFGT_ywENJqSvZ4VR47DSqstQDI0e3T/s640/DSC_0015.JPG" width="424" /></a></div>
The fabrics are perfect and I think are not just Christmassy, but are good all though the winter season......well thats my excuse for it to stay out longer!!!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjf2KaCy52XpCCV0EWZ43wjic20OAqXvk7n-fRxK1IbXuBWTHe7OfchGsfIp3Hm2RFOGvqgBpWbjKe5GwoEOFwE5i7IzeE6WmZduY8iwgNTFfctrA7dM_U32Kx8Thax1vu8G82m_lcu8aVD/s1600/DSC_0013.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="582" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjf2KaCy52XpCCV0EWZ43wjic20OAqXvk7n-fRxK1IbXuBWTHe7OfchGsfIp3Hm2RFOGvqgBpWbjKe5GwoEOFwE5i7IzeE6WmZduY8iwgNTFfctrA7dM_U32Kx8Thax1vu8G82m_lcu8aVD/s640/DSC_0013.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
I might add that due to the daylight this time of year my photos are not that great and I went to the brightest room we have!!<br />
I am so pleased that I joined in with this swap, the formula is so simple. You make a cushion to the theme that is set and that you like, not for a set partner, then everyones cushions are shared anonymously and the makers get to vote the cushions in the order of their favourites. The cushion with the most votes gets the maker their first choice and works down the scores awarding cushions to everyone.<br />
The best bit is you really don't know what you are getting in the post, as you can't guess that something has been made to your tastes, likes or dislikes.<br />
This will probably be my last post of the year as I'm working right up until the big day, so all thats left is to say.........<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgKQ-KYnmq5bn33A96w1H4GlWoOocQREtMYotQNrP75PjI32gE1fdStxvsozc86HD8mxqNys4hhU1R_cM2uFAMNR1tXpExKaNYJtsLBI9Re_iIwRvVXndPuMEAzAbamtXoyF-rybX5yvnnN/s1600/DSC_0016.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="424" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgKQ-KYnmq5bn33A96w1H4GlWoOocQREtMYotQNrP75PjI32gE1fdStxvsozc86HD8mxqNys4hhU1R_cM2uFAMNR1tXpExKaNYJtsLBI9Re_iIwRvVXndPuMEAzAbamtXoyF-rybX5yvnnN/s640/DSC_0016.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
....tis the season to hoot, drink wine and have fun with friends and family!!!!<br />
And to thank <a href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/cottilello">Tiina </a>once again xxx<br />

I have been working like a madwoman and life has definitely taken a few bumpy roads over the last month, but I was determined to find some time to sew (to save my sanity!!) even if it was at midnight.<br />
And sew I did, but it was of the secret sewing variety.............I made a pillow for the <a href="https://www.flickr.com/groups/1988234@N23/">X-Factor Pillow Swap on Flickr</a>!<span id="goog_773812992"></span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgx3kIK9GzOrl8CPeZVdEia8NYClA4eAJ-aa-PobZ6RBKZHhyphenhyphen1DmwQDNPswcmmVECLrNwcZkLo2KbBYHZXZR7lxxvrco6DSepacbXsTqiIXTLGtLesjmTsPgO3HiRIqS_Q3W7B9yJIx6XYf/s1600/DSC_0002.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="622" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgx3kIK9GzOrl8CPeZVdEia8NYClA4eAJ-aa-PobZ6RBKZHhyphenhyphen1DmwQDNPswcmmVECLrNwcZkLo2KbBYHZXZR7lxxvrco6DSepacbXsTqiIXTLGtLesjmTsPgO3HiRIqS_Q3W7B9yJIx6XYf/s640/DSC_0002.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
This was my entry, The Christmas Cottage. I used a paper pieced pattern by <a href="http://rosedahlia.blogspot.co.uk/2015/11/ho-ho-ho-and-on-we-sew-grippy-christmas.html">Kerry</a> from a book she contributed to called <a href="http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/1607058200/ref=as_li_qf_sp_asin_il_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1634&creative=6738&creativeASIN=1607058200&linkCode=as2&tag=roda0d-21">Playful Little Paper Pieced Projects</a>. This block made me buy the book, so when I spotted that the theme for the pillow swap was Holidays, I knew just what to make.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjF984Vt2NZHxag0jaZ3-sFGhqaNT6npGtc8FQhqdAvCs-KMDB_B7LgBn_eWgDKHKDUylq0Iy9erntSDPx-HywGAzlU2eMUpS81XA4no5tXic5SvqKPzMbgigPvg4m7RgA5fS0rui1ZtCCn/s1600/DSC_0010.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="468" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjF984Vt2NZHxag0jaZ3-sFGhqaNT6npGtc8FQhqdAvCs-KMDB_B7LgBn_eWgDKHKDUylq0Iy9erntSDPx-HywGAzlU2eMUpS81XA4no5tXic5SvqKPzMbgigPvg4m7RgA5fS0rui1ZtCCn/s640/DSC_0010.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
I added two borders to the block to make it a decent size cushion cover and left quilting to a minimum.<br />
It has a concealed zipper and very candy cane style striped binding.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhggNWFSiybpr9mAlhtOwYTyW26AFbrUpA7MRHWI8g4pWy-JbF2h9XYgUBGFpTIJswJTpjKsTnAj1m2kIfGvfq_mTFgZd9ElDeN-PpNUvGAgHLEDvF95dTI3XrDnlfJ7DXlxFCJNOWr3M3I/s1600/DSC_0005.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhggNWFSiybpr9mAlhtOwYTyW26AFbrUpA7MRHWI8g4pWy-JbF2h9XYgUBGFpTIJswJTpjKsTnAj1m2kIfGvfq_mTFgZd9ElDeN-PpNUvGAgHLEDvF95dTI3XrDnlfJ7DXlxFCJNOWr3M3I/s640/DSC_0005.jpg" width="572" /></a></div>
<br />
The details<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
Pattern - <a href="http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/1607058200/ref=as_li_qf_sp_asin_il_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1634&creative=6738&creativeASIN=1607058200&linkCode=as2&tag=roda0d-21">Winter Present Basket from Playful Little Paper Pieced Projects </a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Size - 20"x20"</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
It is a brilliant swap formula, as you only make a cushion to go with a theme, not for an actual partners likes and dislikes. So you just make what you love and hope someone else likes it.<br />
I really love the finished cushion and hope that its new owner enjoys having it around for the festive season, as I really didn't want to part with it........ but it got posted off to is new owner this morning and I am eagerly awaiting my cushion to drop through the letter box!! <br />
Although, I have to say this secret sewing lark is soooooo difficult, you can send the organiser (the lovely <a href="https://www.instagram.com/cottilello/">Tiina/@Cottilello</a>) sneak peeks, but I do love asking the whole of Instagram for advice on fabrics choices and sharing the whole process of the making and it was really tricky not to let anything slip to spoil the anonymous element of the swap!!<br />
Remember you still have a few days left to link up your Christmas makes for <a href="http://rosedahlia.blogspot.co.uk/2015/11/ho-ho-ho-and-on-we-sew-grippy-christmas.html">Ho Ho Ho and On We Sew</a> over here, for a chance to win some lovely Christmas fabric. </div>

Hello and welcome to my stop on the wonderful year round blog hop Ho Ho Ho and on We Sew, which is the creation of <a href="http://celticthistlestitches.blogspot.co.uk/">Fiona</a> and <a href="http://www.mudpiesandpins.com/">Paula</a>, to help and encourage us to get ahead on our crafting and present making for Christmas. Each month you have the chance to link up your makes and be in with a chance of winning a prize and as a bonus, each of us along the way might have a tutorial for you. Last year I shared my <a href="http://rosedahlia.blogspot.co.uk/2014/11/ho-ho-ho-and-on-we-sew-november.html">Wrapping Sack</a> and this year I decided to play around with the traditional Christmas Socking.<br />
<div>
<div class="celtic-thistle-stitches-button" style="margin: 0 auto; width: 125px;">
<a href="http://www.celticthistlestitches.blogspot.ca/search/label/Ho%20Ho%20Ho%20and%20on%20We%20Sew" rel="nofollow" target="_blank"> <img alt="Celtic Thistle Stitches" height="125" src="http://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-86FoOD-fAic/VKbP7KhH3HI/AAAAAAAADgI/rIsNTp4WdD0/s128/Ho%20Ho%20Ho%20button%20photo.jpg" width="125" /> </a> </div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I love seeing all of the handmade socking hanging on mantlepieces, but in the UK the lovely socking hooks and holders are not that easily available, but after using gripper fabric for a thread catcher I wondered what else I could use it for and an idea was born. </div>

I'm not going to do a full stocking tutorial as there are LOADS on the internet, but I'm going to show you haw to add on a grippy pad to your handmade stocking.<br />

<u>You will need:</u></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">
<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">
Your stocking pieces ready to assemble 2 outer panels 2 lining panels<br />
1 - matching fabric for pad outer 2.5"x6.5"<br />
1 - Grippy Fabric for pad base 2.5"x6.5" I got mine from this <a href="https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/120080375/half-metre-grip-tight-cloth-white-jiffy?ref=shop_home_active_17">UK seller</a>, but I know they have lots on <a href="http://amazon.com/">Amazon.com</a><br />
2 - cotton/muslin for sand sack 2.5"x6.5"<br />
1 - matching fabric for tab 2"x4"<br />
Play sand dried out (I left mine on a baking tray overnight)<br />
<br />
First you need to assemble your inner sack to hold the sand, sew them right sides together, leaving an opening to pour the sand in. Trim corners and turn.<br />
<br />
Next you need to assemble the outer of the pad, I quilted my top fabric to match the stocking. With the tab fabric fold in half long ways with right sides together and sew. Press the seam open and then turn the sewn piece to create a tube and then press with the seam central on one side.<br />
Once you have done that you need to sew the back and front pieces together and insert the tab correctly (if you are not using a directional fabric this will be a lot easier).<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjjPIdeEZgAXIZRjURxXckun9rFhKCMRdK0neGKsBlhu82w366WPnJEGn32xBY-wrxwSn_Yg4dd09V8oYFGEoSBEL3D8GirUJra7vBk6tSoH4c9trdUx1W4C2Bxnk4UTK1vga99yp0hsCbo/s1600/pic+1-4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="388" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjjPIdeEZgAXIZRjURxXckun9rFhKCMRdK0neGKsBlhu82w366WPnJEGn32xBY-wrxwSn_Yg4dd09V8oYFGEoSBEL3D8GirUJra7vBk6tSoH4c9trdUx1W4C2Bxnk4UTK1vga99yp0hsCbo/s640/pic+1-4.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
First put the tab in the centre the top outer fabric with the seam of the tab facing up and the end of the tab at the bottom with the direction of the fabric (if it has one) the right way up. (Does that make sense? Pic 1)<br />
Then roll the end of the tab thats hanging over up and pin it in place (Pic 2)<br />
Get your rectangle of grippy fabric and put it dots down (right side facing) on the top of the outer fabric. You will NOT be sewing all the way around!!<br />
See Pic 4 with the pins showing for where to stop and start your sewing.<br />
Trim the corners and turn the right way around. you should now have two items that look like this!!!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjV_9N94F5PGpOOHHLNLeyKpXoRmeQC9FW3aMMBuHq4a8xx9Br5-9KAKU6MThY-_Fx1l832VY-idJDW5MIaFqJrKneKJVK0O3la7OQCGzXhXqmUwyiPZStjq8u-Rk4c9w8QGsho6GS55U2E/s1600/IMG_0899.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjV_9N94F5PGpOOHHLNLeyKpXoRmeQC9FW3aMMBuHq4a8xx9Br5-9KAKU6MThY-_Fx1l832VY-idJDW5MIaFqJrKneKJVK0O3la7OQCGzXhXqmUwyiPZStjq8u-Rk4c9w8QGsho6GS55U2E/s640/IMG_0899.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
Next we need to get the pad into the stocking, take your backing fabric and one lining fabric. Lay the backing fabric right side facing up pin the tab in position (I put it about 1.5" in from the back of the stocking side), place lining fabric on top and pin.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjgtw4pW07X7Q0SSkdJuFbmfMV_kRE8aLNpjf5JKZTlCC02iYSqCYYi4Rf5fP3CBd_2D61qSpvOtUgSw6acGmYob-isvaxilHJQ0E_mV8Pkb0mXo2OtmPVJPHjeO3fkyiuhxvAqIk-PwoWF/s1600/IMG_0903.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjgtw4pW07X7Q0SSkdJuFbmfMV_kRE8aLNpjf5JKZTlCC02iYSqCYYi4Rf5fP3CBd_2D61qSpvOtUgSw6acGmYob-isvaxilHJQ0E_mV8Pkb0mXo2OtmPVJPHjeO3fkyiuhxvAqIk-PwoWF/s640/IMG_0903.jpg" width="626" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
Sew them together across the top, I double stitched over the tab and then press the seam open.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhyf2ViqU2fVTG2dAa4kh9v61HLIq3ucLeEuw43nf4VrIcXys_yB3cm_q7QOb36pZVlMuVlaCyZT_Oqu0EI7v0GotGBqXOlyHVgPHLzmSPJivre4osWfWzZfnFoK-3JD8WjxnZHxdHsD91S/s1600/IMG_0904.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="628" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhyf2ViqU2fVTG2dAa4kh9v61HLIq3ucLeEuw43nf4VrIcXys_yB3cm_q7QOb36pZVlMuVlaCyZT_Oqu0EI7v0GotGBqXOlyHVgPHLzmSPJivre4osWfWzZfnFoK-3JD8WjxnZHxdHsD91S/s640/IMG_0904.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
With the front of the stocking and the other lining fabric, place them right sides together and sew across the top, press. <br />
We are nearly there, next you need to make it look like a stocking without sewing the pad into the seams, with right sides together put the now two stocking pieces together, lining with lining and outer with outer, sew all the around around leaving a good size opening on the foot of the lining. You need to make sure you pin the pad out of the way of the seam.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEihXHT3q9sRdGT91iJUxIY24-zxmxSyTS0EXZoj9DLcBtdKU3FhpquzHviP-c-hHfJmgl1UKiqSJRCUa-0X0Hqv7ag6xh_AJKEkrSb8QJSnMsvrt_d-UXvvb5ezvOMIrjr9BqFY8629yrA4/s1600/Pab+pinned+out+the+way.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEihXHT3q9sRdGT91iJUxIY24-zxmxSyTS0EXZoj9DLcBtdKU3FhpquzHviP-c-hHfJmgl1UKiqSJRCUa-0X0Hqv7ag6xh_AJKEkrSb8QJSnMsvrt_d-UXvvb5ezvOMIrjr9BqFY8629yrA4/s400/Pab+pinned+out+the+way.jpg" width="207" /></a></div>
Turn the stocking the right way out and press, sew the turning opening closed.<br />
Lastly get your dried play sand and using a piece of paper rolled up into a funnel put the sand into the cotton inner sack, not too much as you need to close it and get it into the outer pad. I sewed the opening shut on the machine. <span id="goog_126007844"></span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgdViYzl8WQyRmnCYOkih8cbdw7YP8edyoq0aSnxl33Be5p4VBGBLeE5aQcmK5u-X1404e6wJt6cXi43WYUPR9dKfzWZ351Vf8yA5HZ5kkMlT2e0psvZgJVuVEtExKgWY5uicFMR2owMJrX/s1600/IMG_0910.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="368" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgdViYzl8WQyRmnCYOkih8cbdw7YP8edyoq0aSnxl33Be5p4VBGBLeE5aQcmK5u-X1404e6wJt6cXi43WYUPR9dKfzWZ351Vf8yA5HZ5kkMlT2e0psvZgJVuVEtExKgWY5uicFMR2owMJrX/s640/IMG_0910.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<span id="goog_126007843"></span><br />
Put the inner sack into the pad and then hand sew it closed.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhltXvm1f7eXsWAUW_8lxuDirc7ZXfQpJOE7VQZtG1Dy0JHL3FSaucUyLObKCOXUZ1NtQ69Iup0DinLPH9DKzxQObQvft_QBbRc0HkLmw8bd4E1B0AoF0O77BEn3ye5WA5wZ9Ks-Xm_-A_U/s1600/IMG_0911.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhltXvm1f7eXsWAUW_8lxuDirc7ZXfQpJOE7VQZtG1Dy0JHL3FSaucUyLObKCOXUZ1NtQ69Iup0DinLPH9DKzxQObQvft_QBbRc0HkLmw8bd4E1B0AoF0O77BEn3ye5WA5wZ9Ks-Xm_-A_U/s640/IMG_0911.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>

A few weeks ago I managed to finish off my Settler Shawl, unfortunately it took me ages to block it and even longer to blog it, but here it is.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhvCyut7fqh10KOwfz5cvpqrdIdGSednpqIuhU4DRnNtZhaaZSXJtoROdnQCZJIz6d5tsmdm1Vn2WbMEa3klkesEtmcnHeRVpPYx9mJX055v7p1CRJtuO3Z2PCsY3UGUYKFZzxFLaASazqR/s1600/Settler+shawl+1.2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="460" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhvCyut7fqh10KOwfz5cvpqrdIdGSednpqIuhU4DRnNtZhaaZSXJtoROdnQCZJIz6d5tsmdm1Vn2WbMEa3klkesEtmcnHeRVpPYx9mJX055v7p1CRJtuO3Z2PCsY3UGUYKFZzxFLaASazqR/s640/Settler+shawl+1.2.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
I would love to say this was a relaxing and peaceful knit, but unfortunately I turned it into a bit of a nightmare knit, by me not concentrating on the instructions and blindly knitting away................which resulted in a massive frogging session, sobs from me and very nearly chucking it in the corner to ignore. But I am so pleased that I ploughed on, it has finished as a beautiful delicate and really quite elegant shawl.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEirrmqgNTyOLb6TB9DWtIpl4l098t7EMExsXFD6OXTkZok0FkJaOGFHtXF257-5hjFfOyGNhqDwyTKSN495VZ-hpOfy4JHhpqcHdTcweGtseKI_eZus4ZZ2vJ3C3BaYNF8m5kdGM6dyE1kU/s1600/Settler+Shawl.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="596" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEirrmqgNTyOLb6TB9DWtIpl4l098t7EMExsXFD6OXTkZok0FkJaOGFHtXF257-5hjFfOyGNhqDwyTKSN495VZ-hpOfy4JHhpqcHdTcweGtseKI_eZus4ZZ2vJ3C3BaYNF8m5kdGM6dyE1kU/s640/Settler+Shawl.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
The problem started when the pattern told me to repeat two rows so many times and I counted them as pairs not as individual rows, (DOH!!) so knitted way too many. Also, I think I might have been a bit daunted by the border pattern, but that was really easy to do, once I got to it.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjxw8nV2GZNKq_YvNPdplfF3u3wb7T8Jtknx7a4kEHb3F3Z2BJc7LqJ5omSkbn-f7uG2ouEkWHbvuGdUHbX7602slh9pZDdGY19kpATbhb5zXmF5b465SSt8kCs8Unf6YEo55ToOEp3FFfA/s1600/Settler+1.3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="376" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjxw8nV2GZNKq_YvNPdplfF3u3wb7T8Jtknx7a4kEHb3F3Z2BJc7LqJ5omSkbn-f7uG2ouEkWHbvuGdUHbX7602slh9pZDdGY19kpATbhb5zXmF5b465SSt8kCs8Unf6YEo55ToOEp3FFfA/s640/Settler+1.3.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
I ran out of yarn with just a bit of cast off to do, so instead of more frogging, I grabbed the tiny bit of one of my favourite yarns to finish with.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgCxvSTDZg20oyPxUW5E9Mkl8d52Aco-i7tH9azvmFF_EH056KgD0rya9KRtYVVQsN9fu5mpATepl2AfAl1p4MBKZLbPF-G_apJ-JydBaIw16wygRVgSJmnV-c4Z4pW7wWiVmhFMwczSjYC/s1600/Settler+run+out+of+yarn.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgCxvSTDZg20oyPxUW5E9Mkl8d52Aco-i7tH9azvmFF_EH056KgD0rya9KRtYVVQsN9fu5mpATepl2AfAl1p4MBKZLbPF-G_apJ-JydBaIw16wygRVgSJmnV-c4Z4pW7wWiVmhFMwczSjYC/s640/Settler+run+out+of+yarn.jpg" width="552" /></a></div>
<u>The Details</u><br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
Pattern - <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/settler-shawl">The Settler Shawl by Libby Jonson</a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Yarn - 1 Skein of <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/yarns/library/skein-queen-blush-large">Blush in Rambling Rose by Skein Queen</a> with a bit of <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/stash/search#colorway=Christmas+Tree+Lights+&photo=yes&yarn-link=a-fine-fish-yarns-sparkle-sock">Christmas Tree Lights by A Fine Fish Yarn</a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Knitting time - 6 weeks (but not very consistently)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
The yarn is soooo soft and really a pleasure to wear and to knit with and it even held up really well to the frogging, I find sometimes yarn can really fluff and split when you have to frog it. </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I can definitely see myself knitting another and a lot quicker now I know what I'm doing, I think it would make a good 1 Skein Christmas present make. </div>

After joining in with my first sewing swap earlier this year, I jumped straight in when <a href="http://www.bossyoz.com/">Nina of BossyOz</a> opened a swap for not just mini quilts. You could pick out of three items (mini quilt, pouch or tote bag) what you would like to have made for you and it was all UK based, which helps massively with the postage, both in times and prices!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiw0l5b8uzibqnEO8ODZpUZhUtCU2eESy9wdhgZ9hyphenhyphenb7e6TwJLxNCt-TVmr9WCO_Yn-0a8yxZ22dR0KXuToyd2ET0S5-ox6-2zqSrckg82hiYjg3s48Vcd145_3cIFfJkEId6ifEmBXpkEc/s1600/DSC_0011.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="600" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiw0l5b8uzibqnEO8ODZpUZhUtCU2eESy9wdhgZ9hyphenhyphenb7e6TwJLxNCt-TVmr9WCO_Yn-0a8yxZ22dR0KXuToyd2ET0S5-ox6-2zqSrckg82hiYjg3s48Vcd145_3cIFfJkEId6ifEmBXpkEc/s640/DSC_0011.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
So, way back in July we were given our partners and I did a bit of stalking and was lucky enough that I had met my partner Alice on a class in January at <a href="https://www.thevillagehaberdashery.co.uk/">The Village Haberdashery</a>, but with the summer holidays I didn't actually get any ideas about what to make.<br />
Jump forward to the end of September and I realised my sewjo need a kick up the backside and I had a swap item to make. I had seen my partner liked triangles and using her mosaic as colour inspiration I set to work, on chopping up a lot of 3" squares to make 126 2.5" HST's. It was so much trimming that my rotary cutter died during it!<br />
As I wanted to make a tote that I had made myself, so I knew the main mechanics of making it I knew just the pattern to use.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh6Zgx-rcYNpfSL3FZR8jwIE6nE2YI8Ne151I_y2Zr1FKTQ2kzLYu1C1WpuLLl1gHfFp8hH1599rAUFHJeHlj1MTN5hbbTsab3lilZp15hdd0kKhbB1YuQcNYx6f-4j1qgZWCK_v0bksQbS/s1600/DSC_0003.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh6Zgx-rcYNpfSL3FZR8jwIE6nE2YI8Ne151I_y2Zr1FKTQ2kzLYu1C1WpuLLl1gHfFp8hH1599rAUFHJeHlj1MTN5hbbTsab3lilZp15hdd0kKhbB1YuQcNYx6f-4j1qgZWCK_v0bksQbS/s640/DSC_0003.jpg" width="510" /></a></div>
The <a href="https://www.etsy.com/uk/transaction/196585891">Molly Market Tote</a>.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj6nhvxPN1fvbcbBnX5QrlkHpR7dncwQFPPOVZ25FUSkicm2GoxHCv9_NpYXjXFsP8gD5pSn2lWpJNbkezUd1-2VU6PxoYw1YG__SK5hWrQW60vMtDotzAgBlcx4-L1CIkBEvlq2eslOFRT/s1600/DSC_0001.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj6nhvxPN1fvbcbBnX5QrlkHpR7dncwQFPPOVZ25FUSkicm2GoxHCv9_NpYXjXFsP8gD5pSn2lWpJNbkezUd1-2VU6PxoYw1YG__SK5hWrQW60vMtDotzAgBlcx4-L1CIkBEvlq2eslOFRT/s640/DSC_0001.jpg" width="502" /></a></div>
I used lots of scraps and then added quite a bit of Cotton + Steel, Karen Lewis Textiles and the very new Carkai range by Caroline Friedlander for the front and back panels. Then once they were made I just quilted them horizontally with Aurifil.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgzSxeqQBAxTfT8Z7K_TD9Wd9lWLwUYljWjtwDuyXcnraHDkX-0eVE0MDwf0qMfNjHQU34IKTIrMjH13MZxJ7ygrUqkmfrCKG_fU8Gq9C1pNyv5ZbArwZhRLrxHiB1vLZ5hQ31jdYlQB489/s1600/DSC_0004.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgzSxeqQBAxTfT8Z7K_TD9Wd9lWLwUYljWjtwDuyXcnraHDkX-0eVE0MDwf0qMfNjHQU34IKTIrMjH13MZxJ7ygrUqkmfrCKG_fU8Gq9C1pNyv5ZbArwZhRLrxHiB1vLZ5hQ31jdYlQB489/s640/DSC_0004.JPG" width="424" /></a></div>
The handles, base and bias binding are all Essex Yarn Dyed in with Charcoal or black (I can't remember which one I picked from Annie at The Knitting & Stitching show!)<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjhL3XaO8z7seF4OlJAkw-HysImK-EkMGW-SlLKTrK5j-MpK3jZIVIsq-swQzupvHFLqpgazPp1t7eyZ3vBJdzesTqwx1cYWpXZUUnFKxoFXDky9qbK4ZK5twuQacrDiqS2Q3x-VeI0cErd/s1600/DSC_0005.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="616" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjhL3XaO8z7seF4OlJAkw-HysImK-EkMGW-SlLKTrK5j-MpK3jZIVIsq-swQzupvHFLqpgazPp1t7eyZ3vBJdzesTqwx1cYWpXZUUnFKxoFXDky9qbK4ZK5twuQacrDiqS2Q3x-VeI0cErd/s640/DSC_0005.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
Inside was bike paths, with a lucien dot and one of my favourite Alexander Henry fabrics as the pockets.<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<a href="http://rosedahlia.blogspot.co.uk/2014/08/molly-market-tote.html">The Molly Market Tote I made myself last year </a>is really sturdy, still looking great and very useful size bag. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
As my extra item I made Alice a pouch to match, </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
and as she is an avid knitter I added a little hand stitching to it. </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
She received it today and I hope she likes it as it was very hard to part with and I think if your making something for a swap, the proof should be in the not wanting to part with it!!!! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Just need to stalk the post for my parcel now........and say a <span style="font-size: large;">MASSIVE</span> thanks to <a href="http://www.bossyoz.com/">Nina</a> for organising and my swap mumma <a href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/metroquilter/">Amanda </a>for cheering/kicking us all along. </div>

It is that time of the year to show off your favourite makes to the lovely Amy who holds the <a href="http://amyscreativeside.com/bloggers-quilt-festival/">Bloggers Quilt Market Festival</a> to coincide with Quilt Market. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjcQOLyG7lyxbQZJX_EPG2VLv8-30WHT_ExRLN2y0QecfZHQ32P9WVIMW2vZ8lFMBWwkhHpRiBBPADk1c7ykl5Mxt__ExWZyeAshAdLt6qSqxmxeulpl8MoEwe_iusEU10yAYherZB5OMvX/s1600/DSC_0067.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="410" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjcQOLyG7lyxbQZJX_EPG2VLv8-30WHT_ExRLN2y0QecfZHQ32P9WVIMW2vZ8lFMBWwkhHpRiBBPADk1c7ykl5Mxt__ExWZyeAshAdLt6qSqxmxeulpl8MoEwe_iusEU10yAYherZB5OMvX/s640/DSC_0067.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
Earlier in the year I signed up for the UK Mini Swap, was given a partner and then I started to worry. My partner was a modern loving lady and although I love a fresh modern quilt, I wasn't sure I could produce one! I'm (was) a bit of a whole fabric range, traditional quilt maker!<br />
So, setting my brain to overdrive, wasting hours on Pinterest and arguing with Touch Draw I produced this..................<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjdItQPGgWLSyz0g_nUc-mvux4txD99TVnHuUEABWsYlglAhcFVc6CQFCjyIFRyFrUxcIJA92UzVbrOs62ghWUD4ZFJF29Vj798C5Qf6OHX28eIsXcRN4vwHgRuVkMeEzoyM37HUYBdnmjY/s1600/DSC_0069.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="628" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjdItQPGgWLSyz0g_nUc-mvux4txD99TVnHuUEABWsYlglAhcFVc6CQFCjyIFRyFrUxcIJA92UzVbrOs62ghWUD4ZFJF29Vj798C5Qf6OHX28eIsXcRN4vwHgRuVkMeEzoyM37HUYBdnmjY/s640/DSC_0069.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
It measures 19"x19" and was inspired by the <a href="http://www.cottonandsteelfabrics.com/media/products/patterns/137e815c-ba62-4b3c-97d8-9f7d8aeaaf55.pdf">Cotton + Steel pattern Good Fortune by Rashida Coleman Hale.</a> But the block were way too big, so I down scaled it on Touch Draw.<br />
I used a massive range of fabrics, mostly from my scraps and a charm pack from <a href="http://www.karenlewistextiles.com/">Karen Lewis</a> to create it. <br />

Another thing that I never got to share here that I finished over the summer, is a Liberty Summer Romper that I made for Rose.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh75otm3eeG_NLOhlF7gyN72MqY15uBKxm9rvtl8G3BEAJBwNrGhapuP_Hg5wxSQbEnjP771iRsh6AYGlqZvbIno_lNNsbpFOCuCGtDt65wZq1Vmyl8vt2LV7ZFphOoZVUWglgsXkbxIi0Z/s1600/DSC_0237.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh75otm3eeG_NLOhlF7gyN72MqY15uBKxm9rvtl8G3BEAJBwNrGhapuP_Hg5wxSQbEnjP771iRsh6AYGlqZvbIno_lNNsbpFOCuCGtDt65wZq1Vmyl8vt2LV7ZFphOoZVUWglgsXkbxIi0Z/s640/DSC_0237.jpg" width="460" /></a></div>
This is a free pattern that is available from <a href="http://www.purlbee.com/2015/06/26/summer-romper-for-kids/">Purl Soho</a> and with the overlocker was a really quick make.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi-eNf1JjLm7-zSZ3GR_OzFno-fXf1_EkEUisbiXkwc3wMBCYK3raVjjMa2rGeLpBuXRNU7n3BB2AH4f6QR0qS8I5YOUkF_zYSH1ea_t6giesdR-tjjPhm2KU13PQbrRDMP-AU-J0w3jJO8/s1600/DSC_0240.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="626" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi-eNf1JjLm7-zSZ3GR_OzFno-fXf1_EkEUisbiXkwc3wMBCYK3raVjjMa2rGeLpBuXRNU7n3BB2AH4f6QR0qS8I5YOUkF_zYSH1ea_t6giesdR-tjjPhm2KU13PQbrRDMP-AU-J0w3jJO8/s640/DSC_0240.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
I made size 6-7 as Rose is quite tall and I wanted it to last a few summers.<span id="goog_792260720"></span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEitKApzyhbCyg6ZBEXMx1W5rXfAatFx8kMUkvnjjUZMriEyKlPa4V7za8Yv1XrLrpYBYdvrRIcU_8-IkswvgZNRvNSqvDg-AaeeZxalb7C5IeBOl03HhGUzpbq6o0uxucOzbyZ9ac3f1b6e/s1600/DSC_0374.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEitKApzyhbCyg6ZBEXMx1W5rXfAatFx8kMUkvnjjUZMriEyKlPa4V7za8Yv1XrLrpYBYdvrRIcU_8-IkswvgZNRvNSqvDg-AaeeZxalb7C5IeBOl03HhGUzpbq6o0uxucOzbyZ9ac3f1b6e/s640/DSC_0374.jpg" width="518" /></a></div>
<span id="goog_792260719"></span><br />
I used less than a metre of fabric which I had bought in a sale ages ago for a bargain price and as I didn't have the right size elastic in my stash, I improvised with a slightly thicker one and made the channels slightly wider, so I like to justify to myself that this really was a free outfit!!!! <span id="goog_1814314941"></span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

The pattern and instructions are really clear and I can't believe that they give these patterns for free!! (not that I'm complaining, but I've paid for patterns with less instructions, photos and tips.)<br />
<br />
The Details<br />
<br />
Pattern - <a href="http://www.purlbee.com/2015/06/26/summer-romper-for-kids/">Summer Romper by Purl Soho</a><br />
Fabric - Liberty Lifestyle Woolf in Pastel from <a href="http://www.sewandquilt.co.uk/product-category/fabric/">Sew & Quilt</a><br />
<br />
It was a big hit for holiday and was perfect to keep her cool in Spain, I can see lots more of these to come as the pattern goes up to age 11.<br />

Hello.......................long time no blog!!<br />
It's been a while and things have been busy and blogging has taken a back seat in life and unfortunately so has sewing and knitting! But I thought to get me back into the swing of things I would share a few of my summer finishes over the next week. Yes I have actually finished something!!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhTf_oPlAXn6KUjnw0YJbh_RmX-0TMFRKg0g9ilSavXYy8m1AiU9vUHQBsNs3rudJ73GdTp5I-L_r4Y2Ytxjwl6HiruzH8_8GF_BGSNyctT7EdCSAwzL-wpRY7f4wjZ6LfuSkLrTV87xf1X/s1600/PBS+2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhTf_oPlAXn6KUjnw0YJbh_RmX-0TMFRKg0g9ilSavXYy8m1AiU9vUHQBsNs3rudJ73GdTp5I-L_r4Y2Ytxjwl6HiruzH8_8GF_BGSNyctT7EdCSAwzL-wpRY7f4wjZ6LfuSkLrTV87xf1X/s640/PBS+2.jpg" width="448" /></a></div>
Back in May The Pebble Beach Shawl Pattern had a update with two new sizes added to it and since my mum pinched my last one I thought it was a great excuse to cast-on one for myself.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
It is rather bright, but I wanted a shawl that would bring a bit of sunshine to autumn and winter and since I took some pictures of me wearing it this morning I haven't taken it off, so it is definitely giving me a bit of warmth on this chilly and damp day.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgYvLS4rjxuxRhCh1rBMoTPdCgdT1-LIFGgJwT3jQ9RO9GDFegAneIHh5ZPj7oHbVx0u9emDQ48aUYxpW463vSlOL1cuBm5OxX1sPP2GWPHqnnye71XuzMgU0y7XQ-wdaKJ-NlKO_m9Rl_4/s1600/Pebble+beach+2+details+.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgYvLS4rjxuxRhCh1rBMoTPdCgdT1-LIFGgJwT3jQ9RO9GDFegAneIHh5ZPj7oHbVx0u9emDQ48aUYxpW463vSlOL1cuBm5OxX1sPP2GWPHqnnye71XuzMgU0y7XQ-wdaKJ-NlKO_m9Rl_4/s640/Pebble+beach+2+details+.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
It is such a easy knit, but I think gives a finish that looks very delicate and pretty and using a solid yarn really shows off the pattern at it's best.<br />
<br />
The Details<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
Pattern - <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/pebble-beach-shawl">The Pebble Beach Shawl</a> </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Size - Medium </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Yarn - 177 grams of Smitten II by <a href="https://www.etsy.com/shop/SweetClement">Sweet Clement </a>in Maple</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
And as you can see from these pictures, it is a beast of a shawl and is perfect for around your shoulders or wrapping it around and around your neck.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhwAlIwNB5W4ryXC43IF0jxUdOpP9ZK9WpgPmGncPcenAbAUYgxESbYJ9IwdbQ6hqHlQ4u17QZnYbNfa23ZvzVaSaYFNgLdtK_FFhdJl2rljHcPSnTSRxh88LzwIhe3FcHSod5TDaZOW12s/s1600/Pebble+beach+shawl+2+me.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhwAlIwNB5W4ryXC43IF0jxUdOpP9ZK9WpgPmGncPcenAbAUYgxESbYJ9IwdbQ6hqHlQ4u17QZnYbNfa23ZvzVaSaYFNgLdtK_FFhdJl2rljHcPSnTSRxh88LzwIhe3FcHSod5TDaZOW12s/s640/Pebble+beach+shawl+2+me.jpg" width="468" /></a></div>
I think I will have to start yarn shopping for a large one!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

So May happened and finished before I realised it had started and June was another flash of activities and stuff! Some stuff that is rather crap and other stuff that is rather exciting, so for Fresh Sewing Day this month (I completely missed it last month!!) I thought I'd show what I made in May and June altogether......well it does look more that way.<br />

Quilts for Siblings Together.<br />
I would say that there will be more sewing, knitting and possibly blogging for next month, but I can't promise anything!!<br />

By the skin of my teeth I'm getting my last finish of the quarter. You may remember back....................ages ago I asked for Churn Dash blocks so that I could make a girls quilt for the <a href="http://siblingstogether.co.uk/our-work/siblings-together-quilting-group/">Siblings Together Summer Camps</a>.<br />
Well I was very much delighted with the amount of amazing blocks I received, just over 120 of them, from as far afield as America and Germany and of course an awful lots from closer to home. Then back in April I added these to my <a href="http://rosedahlia.blogspot.co.uk/2015/04/fal-2015-q2-list.html">Q2 FAL list</a> to get me moving on putting them together,<br />
Well I can safely say they are together, quilted and washed ready to be sent off to the charity just in time for the summer camps. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I asked for the blocks to be from a colour palate of sorbetish pinks, purples, yellows and turquoises so they could be the girly ones and you guys really didn't let me down.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I used a strip of blocks for the backs with good old <a href="http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/80173365/">Ikea nummer</a>, sorry if your blocks are on the back, some of mine are too!! </div>

I quilted them diagonally though the middle of the blocks, simply as it was the quickest way to make sure they would be ready. </div>

So thank you very very much for all you amazing people who took the time to make blocks with your time and fabric. Without you, these quilts would not have been made and would not be going to the children at camps this summer, giving siblings within the care system a hug in a quilt that is theirs and theirs alone. It really is an amazing community that we belong to, have a look at<a href="http://rosedahlia.blogspot.co.uk/search/label/Churn%20Dash"> these posts </a>for the lovelies that donated blocks. </div>

Blogging and sewing has been a bit meh! at the moment, I've really struggled to get my sewjo and blogjo going recently! But I have been furiously knitting every chance I've got.<br />
And this is what I have to show for it<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjSsY6AE5NiJBZYGwiC5azherAeY6sHkGhk3fxpFPvzMkV5V7RbHoxJSGm3H-XdLfmA3zoBM8AGWtWT9HbNaLCR_dtGZ1Y1VUjdZYyxLdY8AwJt7GAyvgJHby-G6Q-cNEvzKrjiry-t4jnA/s1600/Canopy+Shawl.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjSsY6AE5NiJBZYGwiC5azherAeY6sHkGhk3fxpFPvzMkV5V7RbHoxJSGm3H-XdLfmA3zoBM8AGWtWT9HbNaLCR_dtGZ1Y1VUjdZYyxLdY8AwJt7GAyvgJHby-G6Q-cNEvzKrjiry-t4jnA/s640/Canopy+Shawl.jpg" width="562" /></a></div>
The most cosiest, softest, largest shawl I've made, which also happens to be the hardest shawl to photograph too!!!<br />
I started this shawl back in April, while on our Easter holiday and have slowly ploughed away at it and can honestly say I have really enjoyed knitting it.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEghxBNZSQIPk07UGK7lK-HucjRo5dWcgB2HmSbk6SqY80A9Qh9MKtljQ2vpk9OX9LEf6cgSAtpiq1lzWW0fNlNoAnSyw93KAOsTyEBDtlNPx9eLLE7dpokGpUKCedtBUKWp0en1RVflnRkC/s1600/canopy+details.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEghxBNZSQIPk07UGK7lK-HucjRo5dWcgB2HmSbk6SqY80A9Qh9MKtljQ2vpk9OX9LEf6cgSAtpiq1lzWW0fNlNoAnSyw93KAOsTyEBDtlNPx9eLLE7dpokGpUKCedtBUKWp0en1RVflnRkC/s640/canopy+details.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
The pattern was written in both written instructions and chart form, which for me was brilliant as I'm not a great chart follower, my eye wanders from one line to the next. I find that written instructions are easier to pickup from, when I have to drop the knitting and deal with real life.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgz3w_7aY9cTguOWaK-8BSQkbVW2M3J7Mtu53fvSZOTDI8f4IRCmLUsCmEpH3aPgkmuGCsArXtZAiAy6PbHbHoW0hjC0T0snntM6cPyUn74T64MahuQZjErQUW6I7zjgpMl8FWYZXEMxRtl/s1600/DSC_0020.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="424" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgz3w_7aY9cTguOWaK-8BSQkbVW2M3J7Mtu53fvSZOTDI8f4IRCmLUsCmEpH3aPgkmuGCsArXtZAiAy6PbHbHoW0hjC0T0snntM6cPyUn74T64MahuQZjErQUW6I7zjgpMl8FWYZXEMxRtl/s640/DSC_0020.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
Instead of the three repeats of pattern I decided to go big and added another repeat, which made it massive, but perfectly massive!! A real proper shawl.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi2ZVf0sY31A18WfE5U03tlCEgl_pnCus4E_Qc3qLl3v1TDkZAxol83ZHLIYvFGVnuJpqQcdkJ7Qv135SHoQU0nfWLjugdM1iYXbA1UNNAp2sSLMGeDV1UoEyAc06P-xyI7azCtdxXA3Ld5/s1600/DSC_0002.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="452" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi2ZVf0sY31A18WfE5U03tlCEgl_pnCus4E_Qc3qLl3v1TDkZAxol83ZHLIYvFGVnuJpqQcdkJ7Qv135SHoQU0nfWLjugdM1iYXbA1UNNAp2sSLMGeDV1UoEyAc06P-xyI7azCtdxXA3Ld5/s640/DSC_0002.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
I was petrified of the applied border, but after watching this <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Ca3u6Jqw-w">You Tube video</a>, it was actually really easy peasy and gives a really different finish.<br />
<br />

</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">

Be selfish or not.....And the irony was not lost on me that I finished the largest shawl l've made on the hottest day we've had so far!!! </div>
<span style="font-size: x-small;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: x-small;">A small note, there is only one shawl, but the photos have come out in two different purples, it is the hardest colour to capture!!! </span><br />

Changing of the seasons aways makes me think about what my wardrobe is lacking and as always this spring, like every spring it is seriously low in tops. Especially tops that can cross from everyday school run, to throw on a necklace and be a smart top with jeans for dinner with friends.<br />
And as luck would have it, back on boxing day when The Village Haberdashery was having a sale I bought the Scout Tee pattern, knowing that it would be a good basic pattern to have in my handmade wardrobe armoury! But, like everything else, I didn't have the right fabric to make one straight away, so I put the pattern on the shelf and promptly forgot about it, until my Spring wardrobe strop. A quick flick through the internet and I found some <a href="http://simplysolids.co.uk/ourshop/prod_3760183-Turqouise-Orange-Floral-Cotton-Lawn-58-wide.html">pretty lawn from Simply Solids</a> to have a go with and here it is.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEijnZcFbgkfZLZZuSfbxLKzhY12QlU7LU2OIu8U1tIrvzq8xvo58qVqz9p9IoQUtelrm_aklIBb6YdSAVWT191hlvrv4pZqmz9fTKjtwSel2iOEcuXCmMU9-e-fe9OdTQJuMaobQjqM7HFo/s1600/DSC_0158.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="602" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEijnZcFbgkfZLZZuSfbxLKzhY12QlU7LU2OIu8U1tIrvzq8xvo58qVqz9p9IoQUtelrm_aklIBb6YdSAVWT191hlvrv4pZqmz9fTKjtwSel2iOEcuXCmMU9-e-fe9OdTQJuMaobQjqM7HFo/s640/DSC_0158.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
I bought 1.5 metres of the lawn and as it's 150cm wide I have quite a bit left, I can see very pretty infinity scarves in my sewing future!!!<br />
Instead of the bias binding from the same fabric I decided to go with some<a href="http://www.frumble.co.uk/shop/trims/bias-binding?cat=23"> ready made</a> that I had in my Box of Bias that I've hoarded from <a href="http://www.frumble.co.uk/shop/trims/bias-binding?cat=23">Frumble Fabrics</a>, in a similar colour.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Ignore the very wonky stitching!!!<br />
I chopped this all out on a Friday night, whilst waiting to go and collect the teen from a party and with Olive the Overlocker running next to my sewing machine I had the tank part of the top together in no time. Leaving the sleeves for the Saturday, I reckon I got this together in a few hours, with just the bias binding giving the only swearing moment. I chopped the shop bought one the same as the pattern size, but it was too short so I had to cut another slightly longer, don't know why!?! <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgSJ_ysJjcC-TG9TmLqn_KP13MWCCLvtTDoeKTNgxJs4QJvjwYIvxfF0Q-qxetZxirDhpb3hRGWni1C2uMLL2zBq5vZvJp-XWy_P8pXlqMmglqZVslisVSIOEJ5h1iTcN6vNlN6vvt92CXi/s1600/DSC_0187.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="590" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgSJ_ysJjcC-TG9TmLqn_KP13MWCCLvtTDoeKTNgxJs4QJvjwYIvxfF0Q-qxetZxirDhpb3hRGWni1C2uMLL2zBq5vZvJp-XWy_P8pXlqMmglqZVslisVSIOEJ5h1iTcN6vNlN6vvt92CXi/s640/DSC_0187.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
And I had it on by the Sunday!<br />
<br />

<br />
I made the size 16 which was what my bust measurements fell into, but I think I could make the 14 next time as there is lots of room. The Husband might have said it's not the most flattering top and quite baggy around the middle, but I'm pleased with anything that covers my "3 pregnancy's and likes food and wine too much belly!!!" thank you very much.<br />
Anyway, it is a massive hit to me, as I have literally washed and worn it a handful of times over the last two weeks that is has been made. It's so comfy pretty, I just need to cut out the next one.....<br />

Are you sitting comfortably, then I will begin.<br />
A long long time ago, way back last Spring or Summer I saw a gorgeous striped sweater in the Debbie Bliss Magazine that would be just perfect for Rose and I bought the yarn straight away. I then promptly forgot about it!!!<br />
In January I opened up a sewing box in the front room to look for something completely different (stitch markers I think) and found all the yarn for it, so gave myself a stern talking too and got knitting..........and although the pattern was a joy and the knitting very easy, I have the attention span of <a href="http://pixar.wikia.com/Dory">Dory </a>and got tempted by lots of pretty shawl patterns (I've knitted 3 and a bit shawls in this time!!!!) so the jumper was knitted here and there at clubs and swimming, when I needed easy no thinking knitting.<br />
And then there was the that moment when Boris ate the pattern, there was tears, tantrums (all from me and a bit from Boris when I wouldn't let him finish eating it!) and lots of guess work on the pattern also, which slowed me too.<br />
Then in April with the back and front completed and the sleeves started I added it to my <a href="http://rosedahlia.blogspot.co.uk/2015/04/fal-2015-q2-list.html">2015 FAL Q2 List</a> to give me the much needed kick to finish it. And finish it I did...........<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjTCamK5KuYYhLZPIslZZuHgp1Ous078YV2Ds26bDkZNSGpqjujmluLiiYab0f0LFWjV51nM9N9SxZJMGmp3iDfBR_C7An6nQljbFLuyDZGjqXcx6qXbfSrm1Soxc6uWm3CmYtodbvMBhPC/s1600/DSC_0190.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="578" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjTCamK5KuYYhLZPIslZZuHgp1Ous078YV2Ds26bDkZNSGpqjujmluLiiYab0f0LFWjV51nM9N9SxZJMGmp3iDfBR_C7An6nQljbFLuyDZGjqXcx6qXbfSrm1Soxc6uWm3CmYtodbvMBhPC/s640/DSC_0190.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
And I love it, BUT.......<br />
Knowing how slow I am at knitting garments and that Rose is fairly tall I made the 5-6 years size and........<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh4LHYEotec4oLhl-wqcKWeAo5fTx2hd0B5ZfwIBQIXFylPq-ksAzWjMzIfmBuUp3dRemcPdrK4Lwkiat7gXNwrjpRcXtg1Dvqw7oDcw_np67I3hAWEvsc1L8ujRsNEHAV5C4go4j08lnjf/s1600/DSC_0143.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh4LHYEotec4oLhl-wqcKWeAo5fTx2hd0B5ZfwIBQIXFylPq-ksAzWjMzIfmBuUp3dRemcPdrK4Lwkiat7gXNwrjpRcXtg1Dvqw7oDcw_np67I3hAWEvsc1L8ujRsNEHAV5C4go4j08lnjf/s640/DSC_0143.jpg" width="608" /></a></div>
.....it is ENORMOUS!!!! Gorgeous, but far far too big for my little lady at the moment and probably for a while!!<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: left;">
In hindsight this project taught me quite a few knitting lessons, the first being to keep the pattern away from the dog.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhTOUqBTVDW3dxBovEvEkzizbccn0gfP1dhVA2F5DgqbsmfEY5LGO474d5nIPV9M9DDOYddh5wC1SxfgRzWxn_GwHJ-um4dyGU8qRxLMP3bR4Qtl6Fn_7CP6fjrtoSDsfh8rZpWncffSnJe/s1600/oh+boris%2521%2521.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhTOUqBTVDW3dxBovEvEkzizbccn0gfP1dhVA2F5DgqbsmfEY5LGO474d5nIPV9M9DDOYddh5wC1SxfgRzWxn_GwHJ-um4dyGU8qRxLMP3bR4Qtl6Fn_7CP6fjrtoSDsfh8rZpWncffSnJe/s640/oh+boris%2521%2521.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
Secondly, to use the measurements and knit to fit!!!<br />
The next is that I can now drop a stitch several rows down and fix a problem without frogging rows and rows of timely knitting.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhRGH9LMxsiXc99wp80rx7nNueEcKwNcHTWh_CedhwhBBdR_bw4NtdsevczLdTFNwk3RZ3__vLrcnlpebBiZwWVqSkn5_Ds9wG5C3jM4z3z96qpzVF_U9ydlmimWWplakBtLJId5cIJvXXh/s1600/dropping+stitches.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhRGH9LMxsiXc99wp80rx7nNueEcKwNcHTWh_CedhwhBBdR_bw4NtdsevczLdTFNwk3RZ3__vLrcnlpebBiZwWVqSkn5_Ds9wG5C3jM4z3z96qpzVF_U9ydlmimWWplakBtLJId5cIJvXXh/s640/dropping+stitches.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
And lastly I have finally learnt to join knitting pieces properly, thanks to YouTube. I always used a blanket stitch with the pieces right-side facing (thats the sewist in me), which gave a messy and bulky finish, but I have discovered that with knitting it's all about having the right-sides out!! It gives such a neat finish.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhkTx6xn2i8tHWkdt9r0kt1rpmk6kWtBUoy-E36LhCJfDh3Pcb05bo5mDoNnjgqN6hsGrQR4qOMY6sh4tkxlmpV9Epr1j8lTahyphenhyphenBfzLccnsAsn1P-_8DzGtlUR_XsxiGQnK1AOEl1phj_Rb/s1600/striped+sweater+details.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhkTx6xn2i8tHWkdt9r0kt1rpmk6kWtBUoy-E36LhCJfDh3Pcb05bo5mDoNnjgqN6hsGrQR4qOMY6sh4tkxlmpV9Epr1j8lTahyphenhyphenBfzLccnsAsn1P-_8DzGtlUR_XsxiGQnK1AOEl1phj_Rb/s640/striped+sweater+details.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
The details:<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
Pattern - Striped Sweater from Debbie Bliss Magazine Spring Summer 2014</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Yarn - Debbie Bliss Eco Baby in White 01 and Royal 35</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Size 5-6 years old<br />
<br /></div>
So it will be packed up with a anti moth packet until next year and then I will have a handmade knit all ready for 2016, I'm so <strike>un</strike>organised!</div>
</div>

Since my sewing marathon getting the Siblings Together quilt tops assembled I've not sewed a stitch! I need to get some backing and wadding for them, which is on the list of jobs for this week. But, what I have been filling up my free time with is knitting, it's so portable and needs so much less equipment than sewing (I know I should try EPP, but I'm really slow at that!)!! And with a weekend away, with a long car journey I managed to get a few wip's nearer to completion.<br />
<br />
I really ploughed away at my<a href="http://www.ravelry.com/projects/RoseDahlia/canopy"> Canopy Shawl </a>this weekend and played yarn chicken and lost massively.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEihyphenhyphenzi-3KvlZVl9sJzViT55U1BWykq1uSUy9grWT7_OxWUvmeNVVEO-qnt3TcjHqcU5WhKqnEAnwUouP8Gh957OeMXg_PaqQtGtd1vdkyIyoSJZ3vOK2kMSAgZe3NS90tuNHSDDChIysaaT/s1600/DSC_0138.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEihyphenhyphenzi-3KvlZVl9sJzViT55U1BWykq1uSUy9grWT7_OxWUvmeNVVEO-qnt3TcjHqcU5WhKqnEAnwUouP8Gh957OeMXg_PaqQtGtd1vdkyIyoSJZ3vOK2kMSAgZe3NS90tuNHSDDChIysaaT/s640/DSC_0138.JPG" width="424" /></a></div>
I have added another repeat to the pattern and have run out of yarn with all of the applied border to go, thats 4 skeins all gone.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhOjoc60fLFLGfdpwI2BkG06L_H8_WNModURJFUUqq_jptO73GAg0Ir2Lo9fr-aStOU3Pwok67RvSXgrOalulFjXXw_L7OZvsHvhLmPlrln-kUvwxTp7649jucpZ6E6bSGkok5IDuwR2Hwn/s1600/DSC_0139.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="586" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhOjoc60fLFLGfdpwI2BkG06L_H8_WNModURJFUUqq_jptO73GAg0Ir2Lo9fr-aStOU3Pwok67RvSXgrOalulFjXXw_L7OZvsHvhLmPlrln-kUvwxTp7649jucpZ6E6bSGkok5IDuwR2Hwn/s640/DSC_0139.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
I'm blaming my being away with no scales, rather than my stupidity for thinking I would have enough.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiwU_53qnP6hKwF1XG9hKsLLuyjoOsr6dYTp1wNxqD4jL5Ta9G7-22tS0mRmk1Y9yfdr3TyOpbnKM5LzzfB_3Gv5egCh8Z2rKsmVmzqKy8F82r6GNOsw36nrbSWbuZairGBvnbWkRtvO-Fq/s1600/DSC_0135.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="424" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiwU_53qnP6hKwF1XG9hKsLLuyjoOsr6dYTp1wNxqD4jL5Ta9G7-22tS0mRmk1Y9yfdr3TyOpbnKM5LzzfB_3Gv5egCh8Z2rKsmVmzqKy8F82r6GNOsw36nrbSWbuZairGBvnbWkRtvO-Fq/s640/DSC_0135.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
So, I'll be off to Loop on Friday in the hope that they have another in the same dye batch.... cross your fingers!<br />
<br />
Yesterday I spent a fair bit of time sewing together the <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/projects/RoseDahlia/striped-sweater">Striped Sweater </a>for Rose, it really reminded me of why I love knitting garments in the round, knitting seams are my nemesis.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhCD_cqZi8SollL8APh-deDAMjqa-l_QVVdUNMyPHCL3zTu6F7NVDhKPNe-Jh60OPuAr0UxyRCibvoL2iopj2UHhif-DSITVtEisWNRPQd2Oa56izTCBFVaqTqcDW1S_5qHYt_sKBICC_3o/s1600/IMG_0198.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="592" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhCD_cqZi8SollL8APh-deDAMjqa-l_QVVdUNMyPHCL3zTu6F7NVDhKPNe-Jh60OPuAr0UxyRCibvoL2iopj2UHhif-DSITVtEisWNRPQd2Oa56izTCBFVaqTqcDW1S_5qHYt_sKBICC_3o/s640/IMG_0198.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
It's been soaked and is now drying, I think it may be a little too big, but better that than too small, which it should be for the amount of time I've been knitting it!!<br />
<br />
And lastly, as I was in limbo with the canopy shawl, last night I cast on another <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/projects/RoseDahlia/pebble-beach-shawlette">Pebble Beach Shawl</a>. The pattern has been updated with two bigger sizes and I had enough in my stash to make the medium.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiUfL3n0Zv0ItubwcxFhE7KovEUnwvZlOD8S3FSLKn7Bar7qPs7iLULeL2BBtsmYZE2nFs933lamE48Lt98qYZp4etM9xB2X6QVT1FBbzcIBheyEwawbhL_gGhxWuuThrtsw_Y-OLYQVhiT/s1600/DSC_0134.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="540" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiUfL3n0Zv0ItubwcxFhE7KovEUnwvZlOD8S3FSLKn7Bar7qPs7iLULeL2BBtsmYZE2nFs933lamE48Lt98qYZp4etM9xB2X6QVT1FBbzcIBheyEwawbhL_gGhxWuuThrtsw_Y-OLYQVhiT/s640/DSC_0134.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
The camera is really having trouble capturing the colour of both this yarn and the purple for the canopy, but it is a really vivid orange. I gave my <a href="http://rosedahlia.blogspot.co.uk/2015/03/juicy-pebble-beach-shawl.html">last Pebble Beach Shawl</a> to my mum, so this one is earmarked for me.<br />
So, thats what I've been up to, I've also been spending far too much time searching the internet and Pinterest for Scout Tee ideas. I've got the pattern and just need the kick to make myself one!! </div>

Weekends are very full in this house and generally pass in a blur, I work on a Saturday and then rugby training and games for the eldest takes up Sunday, but being a Bank Holiday weekend (and without a hint of rugby) it gave me a full two day weekend and a real chance at getting some sewing done.<br />
Yesterday I managed to turn these......<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjOXpmFqx9A1diBz76bJ8YMF-aldseqvLr_56KitXfCXZWRvSdyKqQaFsvKaD9lUgLXY8blZRxaG-FzK2_ZuwsJYaYXg2PoZo2A1qbMBFeQFSt9gEKH1VzQNN67AYUiSN4iQaSVes2rv7tU/s1600/IMG_0170.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjOXpmFqx9A1diBz76bJ8YMF-aldseqvLr_56KitXfCXZWRvSdyKqQaFsvKaD9lUgLXY8blZRxaG-FzK2_ZuwsJYaYXg2PoZo2A1qbMBFeQFSt9gEKH1VzQNN67AYUiSN4iQaSVes2rv7tU/s1600/IMG_0170.jpg" height="574" width="640" /></a></div>
into this.......<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg8F88WsgOcvgU2MDloPcKaVLOrAO8obDuMAWscknxlpXbQBbOOKs774GWbzlCOrApSj-zxUq8FI70ArP0GVjsh5pbTQfy43KdClZl-4X9MAmqB52fU9V7arwC3sVd93ToaGDlFvx95SmLs/s1600/IMG_0176.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg8F88WsgOcvgU2MDloPcKaVLOrAO8obDuMAWscknxlpXbQBbOOKs774GWbzlCOrApSj-zxUq8FI70ArP0GVjsh5pbTQfy43KdClZl-4X9MAmqB52fU9V7arwC3sVd93ToaGDlFvx95SmLs/s1600/IMG_0176.JPG" height="480" width="640" /></a></div>

Don't worry if you don't see your blocks, I'm going to be using a strip of blocks on the back of each quilt.<br />
<div>
This post gives me another chance to say thank you very much for every single block that has been made and posted to me, I really think these are going to be brilliant quilts. </div>

I still haven't shared the amazing mini that my partner sent to me, but I feel like it needs a post all to it's self.<br />
Here hoping I get near my machine this weekend, with the bank holiday Monday I've got a bit of a chance.<br />
I'm linking up with the lovely Lynne's<br />

We are nearing the stage where I have to start joining all of these beauties, but this week saw 7 more pretties drop through the letterbox.<br />
First up was these from <a href="https://imstudiolou.wordpress.com/">Lou</a><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiGrXPpwiOZadUPcoHHt1S5c3SfaSs5XLtC1j2mv2lmwnF4JRPTCUAoJhaz88KoMtwnKY6tigKAI8KG092sK5Yi0jwIyLhKkTRyTRrFjzldrly4JULnzuekK3-JE1QyCU0d5W8cGepT35E0/s1600/DSC_0008.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiGrXPpwiOZadUPcoHHt1S5c3SfaSs5XLtC1j2mv2lmwnF4JRPTCUAoJhaz88KoMtwnKY6tigKAI8KG092sK5Yi0jwIyLhKkTRyTRrFjzldrly4JULnzuekK3-JE1QyCU0d5W8cGepT35E0/s1600/DSC_0008.JPG" height="640" width="638" /></a></div>
I really love the contrasting of the colours in those blocks and that mushroom fabric is so gorgeous!<br />
<br />
And then arrived these from <a href="https://instagram.com/greenandbell/">Rebecca</a>.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhvLfI9NRBPGo15okgtuNLVZ34ZDtjEOL56IYEL8AKrh2bkLvm2ibiEN4o85SinZSC8eAKksSV_FKCNMKfwFShuyxvnrc0adZbcKdkPlnXQ40ruCFEScxjVjtIAzyyOydQwmQGrKYzNxCkX/s1600/DSC_0013.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhvLfI9NRBPGo15okgtuNLVZ34ZDtjEOL56IYEL8AKrh2bkLvm2ibiEN4o85SinZSC8eAKksSV_FKCNMKfwFShuyxvnrc0adZbcKdkPlnXQ40ruCFEScxjVjtIAzyyOydQwmQGrKYzNxCkX/s1600/DSC_0013.JPG" height="632" width="640" /></a></div>
They are so lovely, I LOVE the fabrics she used, I think they might be shot cottons or oakshotts with a bit of Karen Lewis Textiles in there too.<br />
<br />
So the total is now at 120 blocks, so I'm thinking two quilts 8 blocks x 8 blocks (roughly 72" x 72") with me making another 8 blocks so there is enough. Otherwise I will never got them ready in time for the camps, as I am running out of time I decided today to make a block or two......<br />

They look normal enough, but I decided to SUPERSIZE them to save time (I really don't have a minute to spare around here!!!) these blocks are 18.5" unfinished, so each block is the same size as four normal ones.<br />

Here it is with a smaller cousin that <a href="http://mary.emmens.co.uk/">Mary</a> made for the quilts! I'm hoping to get another two of these made and then I can have one on the front amongst the smaller blocks and one on the backing......when I piece it.<br />
What do you think!!!! </div>
